Legal Notice & Privacy Notice
Last Updated: September 2026
Welcome to the website of BTLOC, LLC (“BTLOC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) at btloc.com (the “Site”). This page summarizes the Site’s basic terms, privacy practices, and professional-services limitations. BTLOC is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Consulting engagements begin only through a written agreement.
Professional Services; No Legal Advice
BTLOC is an independent litigation operations consulting firm. BTLOC is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice, legal opinions, legal representation, or legal counsel.
Although BTLOC’s founder is a licensed attorney, use of this Site, review of Site content, or communication with BTLOC by email, web form, scheduling link, phone, or other means does not create an attorney-client relationship. BTLOC’s services are not legal services, and the protections of a client-lawyer relationship, including the attorney-client privilege, do not apply to them. Any consulting engagement with BTLOC begins only through a written agreement signed by BTLOC and the client.
Counsel remains responsible for legal judgment, legal advice, litigation strategy, filings, discovery responses, privilege decisions, productions, and defensibility positions.
Contact Forms and Confidential Information
Information submitted through the Site’s contact form or scheduling link is used to respond to inquiries and evaluate potential engagements.
Please do not submit confidential case information, privileged communications, proprietary litigation materials, discovery data, or metadata through this Site or by email before an initial fit check and appropriate confidentiality terms are in place.
Because BTLOC does not provide legal representation, communications through this Site are not attorney-client privileged communications.
Privacy and Data Use
This Notice applies to information collected from visitors to this Site, individuals who contact BTLOC regarding potential services, and users of any scheduling, inquiry, form, or survey tools made available through or linked from the Site.
Information BTLOC collects. Through the Site, BTLOC collects the business contact information a visitor chooses to provide, such as name, business email address, organization, role, and the content of a message or scheduling request, together with standard technical information collected automatically by the Site and its hosting and analytics providers, such as IP address, device and browser type, referring page, and pages viewed. BTLOC does not knowingly collect sensitive personal information through the Site and asks visitors not to submit it.
BTLOC uses inquiry information only to respond to inquiries, coordinate scheduling, evaluate potential engagements, and operate its business, and to send communications a visitor has expressly requested. BTLOC does not sell or lease inquiry information.
Information described in this Notice may be processed with the assistance of standard business service providers, including customer relationship management (CRM), website hosting, form processing, scheduling, email, analytics, cloud storage, and security providers. BTLOC uses these providers to process information for the purposes described in this Notice and does not authorize them to use inquiry information for their own independent marketing.
This Site uses Plausible Analytics to understand aggregate website usage and measure certain Site interactions. Plausible Analytics does not use cookies or persistent identifiers and does not track visitors across websites. BTLOC uses the resulting aggregate statistics to improve the Site. Analytics do not change BTLOC’s consulting relationship with any visitor.
Retention. BTLOC retains inquiry information only as long as reasonably necessary to respond to the inquiry, evaluate or administer a potential engagement, maintain appropriate business and conflict records, comply with legal obligations, and protect its legitimate interests, or as otherwise required or permitted by law.
Security. BTLOC uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information appropriate to the nature of the information collected. No method of electronic transmission or storage, however, is completely secure.
Privacy contact. Questions or requests concerning personal information — including reasonable requests for access, correction, or deletion — may be directed to contact@btloc.com. Requests are considered subject to applicable law and to legitimate retention needs, including conflict records, accounting records, legal obligations, and other lawful business purposes.
Use of Artificial Intelligence
BTLOC may use AI-assisted tools to support operational drafting, analysis, summarization, and workflow documentation. AI is used as a productivity aid and quality-control support—not as a substitute for professional judgment, review, or oversight by BTLOC. BTLOC does not use public, unsecured, consumer-grade, or model-training AI tools with client matter data without written approval. Where appropriate, BTLOC may minimize, redact, or otherwise reduce client information before AI-assisted processing. Any AI-assisted output incorporated into client deliverables is reviewed by BTLOC before delivery. BTLOC incorporates AI only within documented operational controls designed to protect confidentiality, preserve quality, and support consistent service delivery.
Informational Content; No Guaranteed Results
Site content is provided for general informational purposes only. It should not be relied on as legal, financial, technical, or professional advice for any specific matter.
Litigation and discovery environments vary. BTLOC does not guarantee any particular litigation result, cost savings, timeline reduction, operational outcome, or technology result unless expressly stated in a written agreement signed by BTLOC.
Vendor Neutrality and Third-Party Links
BTLOC is vendor-neutral. BTLOC does not sell, resell, or require any specific discovery platform, software product, managed-review provider, staffing provider, or technology vendor. BTLOC does not provide document-review staffing and does not accept reseller commissions, referral fees, platform-partner compensation, or other vendor compensation in connection with recommendations.
This Site may reference third-party tools, platforms, providers, or external links for informational purposes. Those references do not imply endorsement, sponsorship, affiliation, or responsibility for third-party content or services unless expressly stated.
Website Use, Reliance, and Liability
The Site and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. BTLOC does not warrant that Site content will be accurate, complete, current, uninterrupted, or error-free. Site content may be updated from time to time and may not remain current.
Visitors should not rely on Site content as advice for any specific matter. Any reliance on Site content is at the visitor’s own risk. Use of third-party sites linked from the Site is subject to those third parties’ own terms and privacy practices.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, BTLOC, LLC and its principals, employees, and contractors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from access to or use of the Site or reliance on Site content. Nothing in this Notice limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Intellectual Property and Permitted Use
Except where otherwise indicated, the copy, graphics, layouts, methodologies, frameworks, playbooks, Operating Notes, maps, diagnostics, and downloadable materials on this Site are owned by or licensed to BTLOC, LLC. “BTLOC” and associated marks and logos are used by BTLOC, LLC to identify its services.
Visitors may view and print reasonable portions of Site content for ordinary personal or internal business reference. Except as permitted by applicable law, BTLOC’s prior written permission is required for republication, redistribution, commercial reuse, incorporation into datasets, training materials, or automated systems, or removal of attribution. Nothing on the Site grants any license to BTLOC’s marks, frameworks, or proprietary methods.
Requests for permission may be directed to contact@btloc.com.
Governing Terms
This Notice does not create a consulting engagement, statement of work, fiduciary relationship, attorney-client relationship, or other professional-services relationship. Any consulting services provided by BTLOC are governed only by the applicable written agreement signed by BTLOC and the client, not by general Site content.
Governing law. This Notice is governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
Changes to this Notice
BTLOC may update this Notice from time to time. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this Notice reflects the most recent revision.
